Youtubers taking on body confidence!
Continuing the discussion on body confidence, whilst getting my daily dose of youtube videos, I have noticed that the blogging community has taken it upon themselves to share their views on this touching subject that has become a very important part of our society.
Louise Pentland, also known on Youtube as 'Sprinkle of Glitter', uses her well known platform to discuss this topic alot.
Above is a link to one of Louise's videos, where she discussed her battle with body confidence.
I think this is a brilliant way of making women and girls more aware of what is happening in our society, and that they don't have to be tiny to be amazing.

The most controversial fashion ads... ever
Now considered one of the most iconic adverts of all time, when the Wonderbra ‘Hello Boys’ campaign was released in 1994, legend has it that the billboards resulted in car crashes when male drivers got distracted by Czech model Eva Herzigova and her assets.
2.
One of the most talked about fashion ads of the noughties was the 2004 Gucci campaign which featured model Carmen Cass with a ‘G’ shaved into her nether regions. The ad was infamously nicknamed ‘Pubic Enemy’ by the photographer Mario Testino who shot the image. Despite thousands of complaints, the UK’s Advertising Standards Authority did not ban the provocative ad.
3.
Dolce & Gabbana’s 2007 ad was pulled in Spain as it was thought to ‘glorify rape’.Designer Stefano Gabbana defended the image, saying its intent was to show “an erotic dream, a sexual game”.
While Diesel’s 2011 ‘Be Stupid’ campaign won awards, certain images caused offence in Britain as parents believed they encouraged anti social and sexualised behaviour of children. This was banned as posters by the UK watchdog, but were still allowed to appear in magazines.
5.Miu Miu fell under scrutiny back in 2011 with its fall advertising campaign. The campaign, which featured actress Hailee Steinfeld captured by Bruce Weber, became a topic of heated debate when a shot surfaced of the then 14 year old sitting on a train track, wiping away what seemed to be a tear from her eye. The Italian fashion house was branded irresponsible for publishing an image showing a child in a dangerous location. But our forum members didn’t understand what the fuss was about.

Diving into Art...
Since I was little, I have always had a passion for art. So when twiddling my thumbs in the Easter Holidays, I decided to produce some pieces of art to decorate the family home.
The trio collection was inspired by the artist GULEC, who produces stunning skull prints. I studied this artist for my Art A'Level and have always wanted to explore further...

Women's Body Confidence
With the rise in social media, over the past few years body confidence in women has been a major talking point. Famous celebs and big Youtube and Blogging stars have started this conversation and tried their best to make young girls aware of the effects of body harming or just low confidence.
Because of this I want to start talking a lot more about how to feel more confident about your body, and as a young women who's not the smallest of the bunch, what it was like for me growing up.
A lot of young girls don't have fantastic body confidence because of how manipulating the media and fashion industry is today, with girls thinking they have to look like a Victoria Secret model to be 'beautiful' and this is really not the case!!
Because of this, lots of famous brands our now going against todays 'norm' and have started to advertise the beautiful side to all women, because they do come in all shapes and sizes. Here are a few of my favourite campaigns and models...
This was the first chapter of what I hope to be many more talks about body confidence with you guys, as I think its a very important and serious topic to be aware of in todays society. Im going to leave you with a quote I found and love, talk soon...

WonderLust Girls - NYC
Whilst in New York City last week, me and the rest of my course mates got the amazing opportunity to experience a tour of the ever so famous Garment District located in the centre of New York.
The tour was packed with so many amazing people to meet and places to see. However, one part of the tour really stood out to me and that was the talk/Q&A with The WonderLust Girls, who describe themselves as Fashion Bloggers and Wardrobe Stylists that live in Downtown Manhattan.
The talk consisted of them telling us how they got into the industry, what their job consists of and what the fashion/marketing industry is really like.
They also spoke about their Blog and Youtube Channel, and how much that has helped them to move up in the industry and they use it as a informal platform to communicate with people in the industry as well as people like me and you who just enjoy fashion, or just reading blogs.
Overall The WonderLust Girls were amazing and inspiring people to meet and I really recommend checking out their Blog, which I will leave down below, as well as some of there marketing work they have featured on there. Tell them I sent you!!
